Hearing on Proposed Billing Rates for the Department of Public Health  
Laboratory Services

Revised hearing on adoption of the Public Health Laboratory (PHL) fee  
schedule and provisional rates for laboratory services, based on the  
Department of Health Services itemized rates for laboratory services, as set  
forth in the “Generally Applicable Itemized Rates,” as the fee schedule for the  
PHL for laboratory services with service dates on or after May 14, 2024 June  
11, 2024, to the extent permitted by the payer; authorize the Department of  
Public Health to use a provisional rate at or above the Medicare rate established  
by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services for any laboratory service  
provided by PHL that is not included on the Department of Health Services’  
Board-approved “Generally Applicable Itemized Rates” schedule at the time of  
service, effective for laboratory services with service dates on or after May 14,  
2024 June 11, 2024; and authorize the Director of Public Health to adopt future  
changes to the PHL fee schedule to realign rates with the Department of Health  
Services’ Board-approved "Generally Applicable Itemized Rates” (All Districts).
